Domain Transfer

You may need to ensure that the following conditions are fulfilling by checking the whois information of your domain name so that domain transfer for .com/.net/.org/.biz/.name/. info/.cn/.us can be smoothly carried out.

  • Domain name has not expired and within 30 days from the domain expiry date.
  • Domain name must be registered for more than 60 days.
  • Domain name must be renewed for more than 45 days.
  • Ensure the domain name is not involved in any legal or payment dispute.
  • Only the administrative person of domain has authority for domain transfer
  • Ensure the email address of the administrative contact for the domain name must be valid. We correspond with the administrative contact for the transfer request approval.

Whole process takes 3-5 working days. Whole process takes 2-10 working days.
1. Webnic send email to admin contact. Approve through link provided in email by admin. 1. Obtain Authorisation Code from current registrar or existing domain provider.
2. Losing registrar send an email to admin for confirmation of release domain. Losing registrar release domain to Exabytes after client confirm. 2. Email Authorisation Code to Exabytes Domain Department. Webnic send email to admin contact. Approve through link provided in email by admin.
3. Email notification sent to admin upon successful transfer. Control over domain is now with Exabytes. 3. Losing registrar send an email to admin for confirmation of release domain. Losing registrar release domain to Exabytes after client confirm.
4. Email notification sent to admin upon successful transfer. Control over domain is now with Exabytes.

Troubleshooting Domain Transfers

  • Authorisation Code ( Auth Code )

  • An , , or authorisation code is a 6- to 16-character "password" assigned by a sponsoring Registrar. For domains that require one, the customer must obtain an Auth Code for the transfer from the losing Registrar and enter it in the transfer confirmation page.
  • Losing Registrar

  • Your Existing domain provider.
  • Gaining Registrar

  • Your New domain provider ( Exabytes ).
  • Awaiting Response

  • The gaining Registrar must receive a response from the Administrative ( Admin ) Contact within 30 days. If you have not received a confirmation email, verify that the Admin email address is valid.
  • Failed Transfer

  • The domain is locked, expired, or was registered or renewed within the last 60 days and therefore cannot be transferred at this time. If your domain is locked, you must contact your current registrar to unlock it before the transfer can be completed.
  • No Response / Late Response

  • The losing Registrar must receive a response to the transfer confirmation email within their allotted timeframe.
